As part of the Joint Initiative Energy Science for Tomorrow (ES4T) of the ETH Domain, EPFL is launching “Energy in the City”, a free, interactive temporary exhibition that will be held in downtown Sion, from October 14 to December 19, 2026, at Espace des Remparts, 19, 1950 Sion.
Bringing together contributions from EPFL, ETH Zurich, Empa, and PSI, the project aims to bring research closer to the public and foster dialogue on the challenges of the energy transition.
For two months, people of all ages will be able to discover, experiment, and discuss about energy through interactive exhibits showcasing technologies, research, and solutions developed by partner institutions.
Try it out, explore it, ask questions, and have fun discovering how our energy system works today and how research is helping to shape the system of tomorrow.
The exhibition offers self-guided tours, as well asdrop-in workshops and registration-required workshops for children ages 10 to 12. Activities designed for schools and exchanges with students and science communication specialists will also round out the experience.
In the heart of Sion, Energy in the City thus becomes a meeting place where science and society come together, open to families, children, and anyone who wants to better understand energy and the challenges of the energy transition.
